Different kind of Extended Warranty Question - GreenHybrid

Hi Everyone,

I need some ideas on how to go about finding out IF in fact my 05 HAH has a valid extended warranty.

I bought the car pre-owned so I really dont know anything about its previous history BUT whenever I wash the car windshield you can see where it did have some writting on it that says 10 yr/100k mile warranty.

It was written with that shoe polish like liquid in big bold letters. It cant be seen unless you mist the window with a very light spray as from a windex bottle.

I have tossed around the idea of getting the extended warranty for it BUT if it already has it, all the better.

How would you folks go about finding out IF in fact it is covered? Sure would hate to double insure it and would sure love to find out it IS already covered.

Any ideas?

This is just a guess, but there are federal, state and possibly local warranty requirements on the hybrid components of hybrid vehicles. In CT my TCH has an eight year/96k mile hybrid component warranty.

Our dealership extends the standard 3yr/36k Toyota warranty on the non-hybrid components to 42mo/42k for free, and they offer additional warranty extensions for purchase up to 7yrs/75k.

I do have the remainder of the factory warranty which is approx 2 yrs / 26k miles, but thinking ahead.
