Default Driving a Saturn ION these days

The Grand Caravan which is my wife's primary vehicle is in the shop for a few days.
We got a new Saturn ION rental car for her but she doesn't want to drive it, so I'm stuck with it for a few days while she drives my HCH.

My impression with the ION?
Terribly uncomfortable seats, the center-mounted instrument cluster is in a rather odd position. The car is noisy, more so than our HCH both in wind and rumble.
The ride is harder, even harder than my hybrid with its 51PSI pumped tires.

Pickup seems slower than my HCH...and even though I'm driving it the same way as my HCH it just keeps drinking down the gas like a herd of drunken sailors.

Cosmetics are terribly ugly and I'm just not impressed with the car in any way.

This is a base model....no key FOB, roll'em up windows etc and I can really appreciate the extras they pack into a loaded model.

Have you driven a car and had such an impression lately? (Good or bad)
If so, what kind was it.....and what was about it that you liked/disliked?

.

Efficient drivers do it better.
1003 miles a tank personal record. 74MPG calculated. HCH1 CVT

Hot_Georgia_2004;

How about driving an older Malibu. Base Model.

Lets see the Good Things Are:

It Starts without jumping it.
It is an Automatic.
It does not Leak Water.
It has a Radio.
It has Power; V-6
It is a Sedan; Conveniant

Bad Things: Or Worse Things:

No-Cruise Control
No Power Windows
No Power Door Locks
No X/M Sat. Radio or C/D
Bumpy on Hwy. Has New Tires
Wind-Noise

I think that about does it:

All did I mention that it is {UGLY}

I tell you, I love that center dash of the Ion. We have a 2005 Ion 2, drove it from the Seattle area to Oklahoma City (no, I'm not kidding, no I won't tell you why. lol) last year. It went very well and comfortably. We averaged 30mpg and I was a lead-foot with it due to tight scheduling. Cruise control would have been nice.

I have test driven the VUE & Iwas not impressed but I think saturn is GM's revenge on the world: I have also checked out the 10yr-100,000 mile gimicked vehicles. Kia & Mitsubishi. I was turned off at the dealers due to inquireing about the warr I was told this was a limited warr that covered manufacturers defects.. Nice , I said see ya..

I think after driving a Hybrid nothing else compares..
My wife loves her Prius and wants another hybrid at 70,000-80,000.

I like my tundra 4dr . and when the lease is up will buy one, unless a true full hybrid pickup comes out on the market..

The chevy is not a true Hybrid truck and its just like all the other chevy trucks bland & so so inside..

I was not impressed with the dodge ram or the ford trucks or the horible gas guzzling nissan full sized pick up either. Give us a truck that is useful and gets good gas mileage..

Until then I will stick with my 19 cty-22-23 hwy in a full sized truck.. (toyota)

.

04' # 5, W/leather & JBL omitted.
"Prius, Just ask the person that drives one"
04' Tundra, 18mpg city & 22mpg hwy.
04' Prius, 60mpg city & 53mpg hwy.
