Default Drove a Prius for the first time today.

What a day, my second flat tire, my first recal, and my first drive in a Prius. Man the Prius is sooooo cool. That proximity key is cool and the steath mode is even cooler. I want one! I love my Civic but I think my next hybrid will be a HSD.

Yah, smart-entry is one of those gadgets that any self-respecting toy geek loves. And his wife loves, too

Stealth really is wonderful. It makes city driving if not enjoyable, certainly bearable.

That said, you get such fantastic MPG on your HCH. I think you could match it, but I have my doubts you can do better with a Prius. Simpler driving without FAS, but better than 80 MPG ?

"Stealth" mode is when the car is running by the electric motor only - it's very quiet, so it's commonly called stealth mode. Also referred to as EV (electric vehicle) mode.

Enjoy your Prius!

Cheers,
Jeff

Stealth Mode is when the electric motor is the only thing moving the car. EV mode is another name for it.

There is a modification you can perform that tells the car you want to drive in EV mode, the button is missing from North American models, but Europe and Japan have the button and our cars have the feature, they just need the button. Otherwise you have to be gentle enough on the gas to accelerate on electric-only. Be careful in parking lots because people can't really hear your car, so you can't expect them to stay out of the way like they would if they could hear the car.
