Earth Day, Hybrid Cars, and Al Gore
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to pass this info along to anyone who is interested - Al Gore stopped by the Current offices a few days ago and left this webcam for Earth Day:

I actually work at Current.com, but as someone who came to this site extensively when I picked out my last car, I thought some of the members here might like to chime in on this discussion. We'll be picking the best responses for TV. Cheers!

Re: Earth Day, Hybrid Cars, and Al Gore
What are people doing to solve the Gore-bal Warning crisis?

Re: Earth Day, Hybrid Cars, and Al Gore
Is the planet getting warmer? Yes.
Are people playing a role? Probably.
Still, there is no SHREAD of proof this is harmful to mankind.
Global Warming happening? Case closed in the affirmative.
Global Warming bad? Not enough info to base even a circumstantial case!

If the sea level does rise, for whatever reason, it will renew interest in the original hybrid--The Amphicar!

Just think a moment, global warming will increase nitrogen saturation in the air, which in turn will allow for larger organic plant life and increase the amount of greens that we eat. Additionally, just think how much more crop will be available for ethanol... Global warming is a good thing, so what if my state will become ocean, i will move to where the land is.

Huh? Air is already ~80% N2. By what mechanism can a warmer climate increase N2 "saturation"?
Now, if you're speaking to increased CO2 levels, you're generally right, although the plants' ability to reduce CO2 into sugars through photosynthesis is not generally limited by the amount of CO2 available, but by their ability to 'energize' the chlorophyll and keep the Calvin-Benson cycle going. While increased CO2 levels may help in a marginal way, the intrinsic ability to generate the 'light cycle' precursors is really the limiting set of steps in that equation.

Re: Earth Day, Hybrid Cars, and Al Gore
Notice now the term is "Climate Change"? In 25 years we went from "Pollution" to "Acid Rain" to "Greenhouse Gases" to "Global Warming". But darn it, the earth has actually cooled in the past 10 years so the environazis and the complicit MSM has now renamed their cause Climate Change. Hard to screw that one up at the climate will most certainly always change. Carbon Credits are code for punishing the industrious.
