OK the Batteries go in the tubular frame with access ports for changing at 250K miles. Motor generator check. Need that regenerative braking. Computer will need to be shrunk a bit. Let's get Jobs and his team working on the that with Toyota. Yes I see it. A thing of beauty is a joy to behold forever.

hdrygas,
Who said the fraim had to be typical.....lets take cues from a timetrial bike....a solid frame, comp and bateries could be stored, but....fiting everything will still be a problem...hmm.
Cheers,
Steven

Wayne,
The room should be absolutaly no problem, hooking the motor up to the existing trany, the motor would be smaller than the engine, and then the gas tank space could be taken up as well.
Cheers,
Steven

Wayne,
What about our friends the british scientists? They've come up with some lead acid batteries sutable....heavy, but they'd be a heck of a lot cheaper.
Cheers,
Steven

On the light side,
As a High School project I used an electric car starter fitted with a sprocket, a car battery and on/off switch and replaced the ICE on an old minibike.
(1970's)
It was good for around the block.

Wonder if I had the first EV bike

.

Efficient drivers do it better.
1003 miles a tank personal record. 74MPG calculated. HCH1 CVT

Good topic.

Odd that I should have thought of this today before seeing this topic...

Why not have an ICE "autostop" for motorcycles and cars?

Could they could use the IMA idea, or just ditch the whole starter/flywheel thing, and use a Prius MG1-esque starting mechanism? Could "autostop only" be implemented with a "normal" 12V system?

And how much gas would it save if widely implemented in new cars and motor cycles?

Maybe a lot, if we made the red-light "motor revvers" install them in their SUVs and motorcycles.
