To really be green you'd have to mow with a mechanical mower or lawn clippers. :-)

Oh, reading the article, I highly doubt that the whole cattle to steak process is as expensive to the US consumer as it is to the Japanese consumer, which is where the study was done.

desdemona- I do have a mechanical push mower! When I was younger, I can remember once when I was out front mowing the lawn and some kids from the neighborhood came over gaping at it. It was really a Tom Sawyer moment (the literary among you will remember his way of whitewashing the wall)- the kids were so interested in the 'cool' mower that they took turns using it and ended up insisting on mowing the whole lawn for me.

Maybe you can talk your friends into pushing the mechanical mower over your Chi-Chi-Chia car. :-)
