Default It has all the features of a hybrid but it's not.

This is the kind of thinking that I wished hybrid manufacturers would do instead of just resting on what they have achieved.

I see all non-hybrid cars going this route. It's is truely an amazing piece of work imo. Makes me think about trading in my MINI S.

Actually they are...in Europe and elsewhere...just not in the US. As usual, we are years behind everyone else...except in the areas of weaponry and fighter jets.

I think they will come over here in 2008. MINI does not plan on building 2 separate version. A US model, and the rest of the world model. It will be the same.

72 mpg. That's incredible. Plus very enviro friendly.

The impressive numbers are for the diesel, which we probably won't get.

The energy regeneration feature is essentially an ultra-mild hybrid. Essentially, the alternator/generator only engages during braking, and the energy it generates is just used for the car's electrical system, not to power the car.

Yeah, I just got an update. It will not be coming to the US. I can't believe it. But I believe the other features will be integrated on all Models (Autostop, regenerative braking, etc). So not all bad news.
