Since reading hamm3r's "Dang! I just broke my tail light" thread, I've done some surfing and found on weathertech.com's a product called "lampgards". It's a plastic to go over the lights to protect them. Has anyone heard of this or have tried any such item? Does it work? Where can I get some for my TCH?

I purchased a plastic film that sticks on my foglights to protect them. It was from Lamin-X. I have a 2003 HCH and thought that the fogs were very close to the road surface and would be prone to breakage. For what I paid for them I wanted to be careful. I can't say it is working or not but my foglights are still in one piece. I got the foglights about three months ago and put on the Lamin-X about two months ago.
