Hi i am new to this forum stuff what are hybrid vehicles?

A hybrid vehicle is a gasoline car, with an electric motor added for extra bursts of power (assist).

Purpose: The addition of the electric motor allows the gasoline engine to be made smaller, and burn less gasoline, without compromising peak performance.

That's the simplified explanation.

Actually, as hybrids evolve into what they are today, they have the ability to drive in electric-only mode. The motor can become a substitute for the engine for short periods of time.
