Make long trips almost weekly. Filled the FEH twice to make trip of over 1000 miles in one 24 day. Currently, the largest one day trip is over 1000 miles.

How ever far chicago is from boston. Drove my HCH there. I think it was 11 or 17 hours or something. I got about 42mpg if I calculated right. That was pre-knowing how to drive days.

Chicago to fort meyers Fla. 23 hours to the min.

I go ~425 miles (7 1/2 hours) in a day (twice over one weekend a month). That's nothing really compared to 1,000 miles, but it's still a long drive.

Does it have to be hybrid mileage?

Left the house with 1/2 a tank decided to top it off in Wildwood Fl
and filled up in Mississipi & at the LA/Tx state line 2 1/2 tanks
And a cpl of Coffee & potty stops.

The drive back was a little longer had to race Katrina home,
Took I-10 to I59 N. to Meridian Mis. (rain bands from hell)
then E on SR80 to Montgomery AL & SR231 S
to Cottondale FL. to I-10 E. to I-75 S. to Ocala Fl.
did it in 23hrs/ 3 tanks & 1230 miles

I was amazed I counted 150 cars that had run out of gas on I-59 from Slidel to meridian.! I was very happy to have a Hybrid...

Boston, Massachusetts to Meridian, Mississippi, non-stop except for gas. 21.5 hours for the 1400 mile trip. I do the round trip at least once a year.

Made the roundtrip in a weekend once when I had no vacation time and wanted to make the family reunion.

Lots of Hershey bars - better than coffee and doesn't cause you to have to stop so often.

Yeah somewhere around 1400 for me too. I did 2250 miles from Greensboro, NC to Phoenix, AZ in two days, although it was biased more towards the second day, which I think was around 1400 miles. You're not going to get much more than that in a single 24-hour period owing to speed limits and all.

Back in the late 80's I worked in Longview TX as a consultant. I drove to Chicago and back every other weekend to see the GF. About 1025 miles each way, 16 hours. I put 275k miles on the CRX HF over a 5 year period.
