Default How about a Manufacturer Mileage Index?

By Manufacturer...

A weighted average of the mileage based on number of units manufactured.

I would like to know how much the new Mustang offsets the hybrid Escape in Ford's over all eco performance..

has anyone seen anything like this?

This reminds me of the chevy commercial I heard today touting their "best in class" epa ratings. They obviously didn't say what classes of vehciles they were refering to. Probably comparing the corvette EPA numbers with a Ferrari or som V12 vehicles in the same class

Hi Box229:

___I have seen Honda make statements that they are the most fuel efficient automobile manufacturer in the US although I have not seen them passing along that average in the last year or three. Kind of weird that you don’t hear as much about that today as in the recent past and it happened at about the same time Honda got into the SUV business with the MDX and Pilot becoming very popular. I believe Honda corporate is a little embarrassed that their overall FE numbers are (possibly) falling as they are chasing profits down the larger SUV/Truck lines …

___In any case, a google with the terms “Honda”, “EPA”, “overall average Fuel economy” should pick up some hits on this. Please post back with what you find as it does make for some interesting reading indeed.

___Good Luck
