How do you get the MPG signature to show up? - GreenHybrid

Hi,

I finally started using the database to track my mileage. At the bottom of the display page it sort of mentions that you can put that "I get 45 mpg" display into your signature, but it doesn't say how. I copied that link into my signature file but it didn't work. What do you have to do to get that to show up in the signature?

go to your user profile, click edit signature, then click the "insert image" icon. copy the URL and paste into the box that pops up when you click "insert image" icon.

How do you get higher mpg than others? Is it through driving habits?

I notice that in some folks' MPG signature, the image is also a hot link to the detail (the page with the graph). Can someone provide help on how to do that? Thanks.

If you follow these instructions, you'll need to take out the http:// from the address in the link or it will add another set and cause the link to not work. So when you edit the link just leave out the http:// part. I had to play around with it a bit to get it to work.

I still don't know why I get a double border line at the bottom but it works anyway so I'm not going to fuss over it.

Couch, if you were asking me, I have had a hybrids since 02, I have been teaching myself how to drive for better fuel Economy since then. While I am no Hypermiler I think I do rather good. Especially since I take so many long expressway trips. I take an extra 20 minutes to get to work because I can get 75MPG on a great day vs. the shorter way that gets me only 45MPG. So to answer your question if you get crazy about mileage you can do better then the average. But watch out your friends and family might stop talking to you as you base your day based on your mileage to and from work.
