I did a search and didn't see any past polls doing this, so hopefully I'm not duplicating a topic.

After buying my HAH, my co-workers were asking about my car and the fuel efficiency. This was before/during the whole Katrina gas spike. One guy in particular drove a '98 Chevy 1500 Silverado, 5.7L V8 4X4, getting about 15 mpg. After calculating out the mileage numbers several times, he finally decides to get an '05 HCH! So, now there are two hybrids in our lot. Hopefully, there will be more in the future.

So that got me thinking, how many people do you know have purchased a hybrid vehicle because they seen your car? Or heard you talking about your fuel economy?

By the way, my wife is really tired of hearing me talk about my current MPGs!

I have not been able to get anyone to buy or even commit to buying a hybrid. In the past, when I had a MINI Cooper, I got two other people to purchase one, and they love it, but I can't call that a fuel efficient vehicle (the Cooper S averages around 24-27 mpg), which was one reason I switched to a Prius. A number of people looked at my Prius, and quite a few liked the functionality of the hatchback, etc.. One of my co-wrokers is interested in hybrids, but since he is very tall, he has a very hard time fitting into the Prius II. Interestingly, my former MINI had more front seating space, legroom and headroom than the Prius!

I got 1 family (next door neighbors) to buy a hybrid (HCH)... and 8 people to get non-hybrid cars (all Honda, minus 1 Acura). And no, I don't work for Honda or for a dealership.
