How Many Times Have You Explained Your Hybrid?
I'm closing in on having had my FEH for a month now, and I still love it to bits. In this month, I've had three seperate occasions where strangers have noticed that I have a hybrid, and have asked about it. Sometimes just some vaguaries: How many miles to the gallon do you get? Do you have to plug it in? Do you like it? And sometimes much more detailed.
Now, in all honesty, I expected this. I knew, that with something like this, I was going to be asked about it. I had it one day, when stopped at a red light the pick up next to me got my attention and asked about it at the red light. Today, in the parking lot of a grocery store, a former Ford employee was asking about it, and I had a five minute or so conversation with her, explaining price, and how it works, and so forth. Talking with my parents, they're surprised I haven't been asked more. (Though, I argue that since the FEH and the Escape are the same, it's much more difficult for someone to realize I have a hybrid and not a conventional Escape.)
I don't mind this, in fact I suppose I could say I love it. As a teacher, I get a joy out of explaining something new to people with open minds.
