Default Hybrid TAX so much for saving $$$

I see threads about SUVs should be taxed due to using alot of gas but those SUVs pay alot in taxes at the pump. Now hybrids are looking to reduce gallons pumped and thus less for the taxman.

Well the Gov't wants its fair share see article

"Due to decreasing revenue from gasoline taxes caused by new hybrid vehicles and consumers interested in fuel efficiency, Oregon is studying a different approach to taxing drivers. The state is experimenting with the idea of taxing drivers per mile. "
