Something that struck me is the reduced frequency of fill ups - even for my 400-500mi/week use. This gives me a little more leeway to be on the look out for cheaper gas (on the road, using gasbuddy on line etc.).

Since gas prices can fluctuate 10 cents or more within a few days, it might be cool to have the NAV system advise you when it thinks local prices/stations are offering relatively inexpensive fuel. Maybe it sees prices down by say 10 cents or more versus the last 1-2 week average...

I would like to see engineering units on the MFD display and both MG1 and MG2 shown in operation. For good measure, the engineering data should be available via either a USB interface simulating a serial port or a disk with a recorded trip data file. Finally, the MFD should show all error codes and sub-codes with an simple explanation of what they mean and provide a way to 'reset' them.

My wish: a hybrid in "B-Car" size for under $20k (like a Fit/Versa), and a CUV size for under $30k (like an Edge).

.

Hope is like a candle held against the night.

1) Diesel Hybrid capable of many alternate diesel fuels, especially waste vegetable oils
2) 4WD (esp. for snow) with tiny individual motors/generators on each wheel
3) Using 2) for traction/yaw/ABS rather than direct braking to maximize energy recovery and control
4) 4 wheel independent compuer controlled steering
5) Combined speed/mpg Cruise control
6) Automatic system for driving/traffic control to minimize accidents/control separation distances/maximize overall city mileage/maximize overall average speed/minimize congestion/eliminate stop signs and lights. Including things like line/lane recognition, proximity sensors front and back, GPS navigation by setting destination(s) only and setting parameters on time, distance, mpg, or total fuel usage priorities. Ultimate goal: a control system reliable enough to allow you to sleep until you reach your destination. (Of course comfort would have to be improved.)
7a) Battery provides > 150miles EV only at speeds up to 65 miles per hour
7b) Plug-In capability for home charging
7c) Long Retractible Plug-In cord for 120V and 240V charging away from home with smart chip for relaying electric usage charges to my credit card through the power line to internet to credit card company.
8) Batteries requiring much less energy to produce than a Hummer (re: Prius), including operation
9) Photovoltaic cells on the roof/hood/trunk, as applicable for recharging in parking lot at work or outside at home
10) Multiple 120V outlets in vehicles AND eliminate cigarette lighters (archaic pro-tobacco supporting car companies!). I have used a plug in converter for years. I paid $18 and don't need to replace/buy cell phone chargers when i change phones, I charge my bluetooth headset and run a laptop. I want the space back.
11) ipod/MP3 plug in to radio OR back seat (let kids run music with out running a wire to the front so I can drive)
12) all cup holders able to hold 20 oz. bottle AND smaller cups both securely
13) high ground clearance for snow or adjustable clearance if can be used to reduce net fuel usage.
14) cpu telling predicted miles left including fuel and battery
15) backup proximity sensor/notification system

Separately I want a large pickup truck for towing (e.g. 3 horse trailer) with similar ability as above, but add
a) large torque electric for initial acceleration
b) braking system integrated with trailer capable of additional braking load and braking for stability
c) two fuel tanks
d) aerodynamic truck
d) view screen for plugging in camera for horses and behind trailer
