Default Hybridfest 2007 Registration is Now Open

Are you going to Hybridfest 2007? It'll be here soon: July 20 - 22 in Madison WI.

*Hybrid Owners Car Showcase – This year's goal: 200 Hybrids on site!

*Hybrid vehicle test drives

*Interesting exhibitors

*Hybrid-related and environmental speakers

*Hybridfest members will once again be competing in the MPG Challenge to see who can get the best mileage!

The MPG Challenge will be limited to the first 35 Hybridfest members who sign up for the MPG Challenge. As of today there are only 19 slots left. Sign up at http://www.hybridfest.com/members.htm.

Last year was great fun, and this year's Hybridfest promises to be even better. See you at Hybridfest!

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the notice. I gotta say, I am planning on making the trip for h-fest, but I don't know if I want to register as a member or not.

I don't care much about showing off my car, I'll just be happy to have it's presence noted. I don't want to be part of the FE challenge. I'm ambivalent about the socials.

I'd just like to show up, walk around, see the sights/booths/speakers/etc...

Why should I sign up? Can I do all that by just showing up?

Thanks again, Ian

P.S. We're bringing our pug. Where will dogs be allowed/not allowed?

Ian,
Sure, you can simply park your hybrid out in the parking lot and come to the show. It won't be on display with all the other hybrids. You can come see the sights, booths, speakers, enter for general door prizes, and take test drives by simply paying the Fair's admission fee which is $6 per day for adults.

But, if you do not become a member you won't have access to any of the following things:
- member reception on Friday
- MPG Challenge
- member cook out Friday evening
- access to the Hybridfest hospitality room
- display of your car on Satuday and eligibility for prizes
- boxed lunch on Saturday
- Saturday evening buffet
- Sunday morning "how-to" sessions.

You also will not receive
- free hybridfest t-shirt ($15 value)
- free admission to the Fair for Friday, Saturday, Sunday. ($12 value)
- member swag bag full of Hybridfest goodies
- a chance to win member-only door prizes

One last thing I'd like to mention is that Hybridfest depends on people like you for financial support. We are an all-volunteer group of enthusiasts who organize this show. Even if you choose to not become a member, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to the non-profit company, Hybridfest, Inc. http://www.hybridfest.com/Donate.htm

We hope you come to the event, and we look forward to meeting you. If you see me, be sure to stop me and say hi! (p.s. I'll check about the dog situation and get back to you.)

You drive a hard bargain Eric! Let me check with the missus to see how "involved" we want to be.

Thanks.

That's my job, so I guess I'll take that as a compliment.

No matter what you do, I'm sure you will have a good time. There are people coming from all over the country. So far people from eleven different states have signed up. Last year it ended up being over 25 states plus Canada. Although you'd be the first couple ever from Nebraska as far as I know.

Is the festival in the fair?

Will we be parking in a lot for the fair or the fest?

noflash,
Good questions! Keep asking 'em. Or if you want me to call you personally with some details, send me a PM with your number.

First let me respond to your question from the other day regarding dogs.
Sorry, no dogs allowed at the Fair.

Most Hybridfest activities take place within the Dane County Fair. Since it is within the Dane County Fair, the public needs to pay the admission fee of $6 per adult, per day. The admission fee allows the public to see the Hybridfest stuff and the Fair stuff. There is free parking for the public in the Fair's parking lots.

The Hybridfest Hybrid Owners' Car Showcase is only on Saturday and will not be in the parking lot. The Showcase cars will be on display outdoors in various areas within the Fairgrounds.

Here's how it will work…On Saturday morning, we will parade all the Showcase cars into the Fairgrounds all at once and they will be directed to their spots. The cars will remain in place all day for everyone to view. At 5pm we will parade all the Showcase cars all back out at once. Our goal is 200 cars on site.

There are some Hybridfest members who will choose to do lots of other member stuff, but maybe choose not to have their cars in the Showcase. No problem! They would simply park their car in the public parking lot that day. Or if they are staying at the hotel which is adjacent to the Fair, they could simply leave their car in the hotel parking lot and walk over.

*The Friday member-only activities will be at just down from the Fairgrounds at Olin Park.
The Sunday morning member-only "How-To sessions" may be in an area adjacent to the grounds.
