Last night while delivering my daughter to cheer class, then driving to Wal-Mart, then back to cheer class and back home, a task which took total about 20 miles of driving, I spotted 5 of the 6 hybrid models on the road:

1. Accord Hybrid (blue) filling up at a gas station.
2. Honda Insight (red) at a stop light.
3. Prius I (light green) I actually saw two of these in different locations.
4. Ford Escape Hybrid, with it's cool little hybrid badge on the front fender (crossing my path while I waited at a red light.)
5. Civic Hybrid (I was driving it).

I was craning my neck looking for a Prius II, but after seeing a lot of them all the time, none were seen in this particular odd trip. I was hoping to do a clean sweep !!

Anyway, I thought this was interesting, and makes me think that Hybrids are definitely on their way to crossing the "mainstream" line if they have not already done so.

I still have not seen a Ford Escape Hybrid or a Honda Accord Hybrid after months of looking, and I live in a metropolitan area of California. I must not get out enough...

i've seen a couple escape hybrids, but havn't seen an accord hybrid on the road. must just be that not many people in my area own accord hybrids. i feel so dissappointed craning to look at every new 4dr accord on the road, only to read "LX" or "EX" on the badging instead of the HYBRID that i wish i could see

You don't have to fight to see the back. Look for the antenna in the middle back of the roof.

I usually see all six on my way but tonight I only saw a couple of them. There's a pack of us that usually commute the same way to and from work but I guess today must have been "Hybrid owners day off" because I didn't anyone I usually do! Either that or everyone was working late!

I'm in Norman and had a hot hybrid spotting day. I normally never see any in my little town except maybe ya might see one of the Insights driven by the local drugstore. Well yesterday in Norman I saw 2 Civics and a Prius. How can you tell the Escape and the Accord hybrid?

One of the Civics was a white cvt from texas and it has a silver strip above the grill, is that an older model or an option?

I was also suprised today to see an HCH in my own small cow-town.

Another tell-tale sign is the grille.
Look at the air-intake area between the headlights, on the body-colored bar or bracket that the big "H" emblem container is fastened to.

All other Civic's this bar or bracket is very narrow, while the HCH is very wide.

I don't believe I've seen any Accord Hybrids or Insights yet. I have seen maybe one or two Escape Hybrids. However, just about every day I see several Civic Hybrids and Prius IIs, around 3-4 each.
