As we all know the HCH looks like a regular car and zips along unnoticed.
Except for the roof antenna, driving along side an HCH is almost undistinguishable
to ICE.
Prius and Insight are a special car and are easily spotted.

Question:
You, as a Prius/Insight driver spy another one driving 100 feet ahead in the next lane.
It would be no trouble to go along side and say "Hey"!
I mean Prius to Prius,
Prius to Insight,
Insight to Insight etc

Do you ever go along side and give a howdy wave or just let it go?
This communication is not common for us HCH drivers. (At least not me)
I wish it were. <_<

I like your new Avatar. Very pretty car. My GC is red too!

Efficient drivers do it better.

I always wave, flash lights, give some sign of recognition for other Prius drivers - when passing (or being passed - my cohort on the thruway that I occasionally travel with is not as concerned with his ultimate mileage as I am!), we acknowledge each other.

This isn't uncommon though - it started with my father's 64 Corvette, I also met another early-edition Golf GTI driver (eventually turned out to be the guy I bought parts from!) and of course, all the motorcycles I have had - all but Harley riders generally wave back.

But - I have only seen two insights parked of late - none on the road - and though I look for the HOndas, their stealth is far to hard for me to track while driving!

But I qalways try to wave to any hybrid. I think I may be confusing the one First Generation Prius I occasionally see on the road!

Jack

I usually give the "thumbs up". Although often it goes unnoticed. Now that warmer weather is here, though, I can extend my hand out of the car so it is seen a little easier.

I first experienced this when I bought a Miata. I thought it was fun. When I bought a Corvette, it happened to a lesser extent. Then I sold the Miata and Vette, and I got a BMW Z3.

Even less acknowledgement from fellow Z3 drivers, but a lot more attention from the ladies. I fear there'll be no sex appeal for a driver of a silver Prius. But what the hell, it's time for a change anyhow.
