Let's see the mileage range !!
Please contribute the miles you have on your hybrids.
There is more and more talk about "hybrid battery replacement costs" and I need some data to see how many miles we are racking up without battery replacements.
If you have replaced all or part of your battery, please let me know.
Thanks Much all !!!

Could be people checking back who already voted or people who want to see the answer but don't own hybrids yet. Don't get so excited.

Yes I know about the non-hybrid owner visits - I just wanted to emphasize that I wanted people to vote if they could......

Did you also want to include the Dept. of Energy fleet study? Their Prius went over 160,000 miles without a battery replacement.
http://avt.inel.gov/hev.html
There is also a Canadian fleet report:

Re: Let's see the mileage range !!
Bob, this one was a winner for data purposes:
http://avt.inel.gov/hev.html
This is a very interesting page filled with PDFs which indicate good performance in regard to HEV battery life.
See this one in particular:
http://avt.inel.gov/pdf/karner.pdf
They say a battery does not lose it's efficiency after 160,000 miles at least.
They also only had one battery failure, in a Honda Insight at 72,000 miles, in more than 1.35 million miles driven in hybrids.
That battery was replaced under warranty by Honda.

If I remember correctly, some of our Insight owners have had 'infantile' battery problems that were corrected under warranty and I believe a new or reprogrammed controller.
You might also want to check the Canadian fleet report including the maintenance records for the Prius taxi. I understand there was one entry that
suggested battery work under warranty. However, those maintenance records are hard to read.
I think Doug has been tracking battery failures in Prius . . . as much as we can track any voluntary reports . . . and I think the Prius number is 11. However, my understanding is those that we have a diagnosis for were not so much classical battery chemistry failures as more the battery connectors corroded (TIS covers this in salt air areas) or being left unused for over a year (NiMH have a finite shelf life.)
GOOD LUCK!
