I just wanted to relate a little story and thought this was the best place to post. Today I had the "opportunity" to drive to Atlanta (from Chattanooga) for a business meeting. So far I have not driven my HCH more than 1 hour from home (45 miles or so) and I was nervous about wrecking my gas mileage on the freeway between Chatt and Atlanta. I know Hot_Georgia drives this direction all the time, but not normally on the freeway. Well I am lucky enough that the company I work for has some hybrids we can "rent". I got a HCH to drive to Atl from our pool. Last night I drove from our motor pool to the garage where I park. When I parked the car I was setting at around 20 MPG (I reset the trip). This morning I picked it up at 7 am to drive to Atl. I went to the a hotel near the airport and then drove back this evening. I was very pleased with the MPG at the end of the trip. AFter driving freeway all the way, getting stuck in Kennesaw in morning rush hour and freeway all the way home (avg 60 to 70 on the freeway) my average was 52+ on the FCD. I would want to bet the tires are near 32 and the car has probably not been babied in any way. I guess next time I won't be "nervous" about driving my HCH. I would probably be in the mid-50's if I had.

Thanks for letting me ramble and thanks for taking time to read!

Billy

I know the hills in Chattanooga are so steep that trucks are warned several times to shift to low gear, and runaway truck sand pads are even provided.

The trip down here through the mountans are almost all rolling hills.

I'd say you did very good!

Quite well indeed. What route did you take i wonder? I know that there is a route that runs through elijay (determined shortest and fasted by my family) that only has 1 really "mountain".
Cheers,
Steven

I was on 75 the entire way. It has more hills than I remember, but then again I see more hills lately than I used to .
