Swedish magazine Auto Motor & Sport today says that the 2005 S-class which will be introduced at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2005 will have a hybrid option, a six-cylinder gasoline engine with two motors.

Another hybrid drivetrain that is being developed is a eight-cylinder diesel with two motors. They say the diesel will first be found in the 4WD GST that will be manufactured in the US starting may 2005.

I had a look, the best I found was the more extensive article (in german) in the german car magazine Auto Motor und Sport:

Seems like the hybrid option will not be for the 2005 series, but maybe later on. It doesn't seem like it will be anything for hypermilers though, in total 320 horsepower... :blink:
