The people that race electric motorcycles say that for a gasoline engined motorbike to be able to compete with an electric version, it needs
3 times the horsepower!
The reason is that a gasoline engine does not make peak power all the way through the rev range. Eg, a 300 hp @ 6,000 rpm gasoline engine will only make 100 hp @ 2,000 rpm. However, with an electric motor you always have maximum power available - hence the ability of the electric motorcycles to devastate the gasoline opposition on the track - even when they have twice the power.
So this 268 bhp Mitsubishi will accelerate like it has >500 bhp!
