I'm going to the Motor Trend Arizona International Auto Show this weekend in Phoenix - I'll take what pics they let me and post them in the share section on Monday....

Will be interesting to see what they have there in the way of existing, upcoming, or prototype Hybrids !!

Hi Lars-ss:

___I will be looking forward to your post about the show. I hope it’s a good one!

___Could you hit up Toyota on the Yaris and when their Li-ION Stop/Start in one will be imported as well as squeeze Honda for everything about the controversial FE of the upcoming Fit? Honda will not give you a second of their time but the Toyota folks might? Try anyway …

___I saw a post of yours over at Edmunds about the Echo and that it is incapable of 60 mpg over a tank or lmpg. Be careful with that kind of challenge because an Echo pilot might just take you to the woodshed on that one! Even though I dislike the looks, ergonomics, and general layout, I would like a shot at one for a month or two and I have a sneaky suspicion that thing could scare some HCH-I and Prius I drivers …

___Good Luck

___Wayne R. Gerdes

It's held Thanksgiving weekend at the Phoenix Civic Center right by the baseball stadium every year.

OK I'm posting some pics in the share section in a few minutes.

One of the interesting things I heard was when I was looking at the RX400h, a couple in their mid-50s came up and the woman said, "this looks just like the 330 - what is it?" And I said "It's the 400h Hybrid." The man said, "Hybrid? It runs on gasoline and what else? (pause) Electric?" And I said yes. They moved ahead to go look at it.

I guess it just surprised me that he had to think a second to come up with the other half of the hybrid power......

Anyway, Wayne, I did not see your question in time, so I have no answers for you - sorry about that.....

See the pics in a few minutes....

General Motors has had a very strong push on their E85 flex-fuel vehicles to tout them as being like hybrids since they only use 15% as much gasoline per gallon of liquid fuel consumed. Granted, a flexfuel Suburban only gets about 12mpg on E85, which means it's going to use 4-5 times as many gallons per mile as a Prius, for example, so it's still not a very good gasoline user anyway. Still, I can understand it.
