Default Oil goes above $61 barrel!!

The supply-demand chain is so tight, that anything can trigger a price spike...

Investors can act so stupid!

It's because the King of Saudi Arabia died, but he was only a figurehead since his stroke ten years ago. His heir-apparent has effectively been in charge - nothing has changed.

Wow!
I wonder how much that will translate to the pumps?

But there is a silver lining, at least for us who see it coming and stay out of the larger vehiles:
The other day I figured that hypermiling will help pay the majority of my car over the 10 years I plan to drive it. (34K miles/yr for 10 years).

You can't say that for 90% of the other vehicles out there.
I just saw a GM Yukon advertisement, starting at only $34K.
Gee, can anyone guess what the real cost of this might be over ithe service lifetime?
I just read the the EPA average is only 15!

.

Efficient drivers do it better.
1003 miles a tank personal record. 74MPG calculated. HCH1 CVT

Steve while you are correct on the Yukon it can haul alot more than our Civic Hybrids. I love my Civic Hybrid but it would be impossible to carry our 2 dogs in there crates and luggage and all related stuff to flyball tourys in the Civic. Our Tahoe does this with no problem. When it wears out I will be checking into Hybrid SUVs, but even the Escape is abit to small at this point. Kevin
