The ministry of finance is now accepting applications for RST (PST) rebate under the new maximum of $2000 for hybrid vehicles that became law on May 18, 2006. Currently, their web site states that the rebate guide is being updated to reflect the changes, but they will accept applications using the existing form which can be found at:

For new vehicles, submit the filled in form, the original bill of sale, and a copy of your vehicle registration. You can request your bill of sale to be returned.
Expect up to 10 weeks to receive your refund.
Obviously, this has nothing to do with the US based incentives which do not apply to us hybrid buyers in Ontario, including the expiry based on number of vehicles sold. The tax rebate is available for purchases made until 2012 unless changed by the govt in the future. The updated guide when released will undoubtedly state that.
