Default Plan to see this movie?

Hey all,

I saw a trailer for this movie coming up, and thought it looked interesting. I remember the EV1 when it first came out in '95-'96-ish. To me, it seemed to be a phenomenal innvoation, albeit hampered initially by sub-par batteries that only allowed it to go ~120 miles per charge (it was also ugly as sin, but not really the point). Anyways, if we used today's lithium-ion batteries, like what the Prius uses, supposedly the distance between charges leaps forward. What do you all think? Here is a link to the movie's web page, which is designed quite well. Lot's of interesting facts, history, and what-not.

Who Killed theElectric Car?

I wonder if this is (or in this case was) the 'real' answer to our automotive gas consumption woes, or are we better off staying the course with hybrids, biodiesels, and eventually plug-in hybrids?

Cheers!

Pretty sure the past and present Prius has NiMH batteries.

NiMH has some great advantages in the durability category, but some disadvantages in the size and weight category.

Future Hybrids may use Li-Ion cells.

Just FYI.

Thanks for letting me know! I couldn't recall which style battery was used currently by Toyota.
