Oops, another fly in the ointment for hydrogen!

Apparently there's not enough platinum in the ground to make enough fuel cells to power the cars in the world, let alone all the haulage etc.

Wouldn't be so scary, but this is what Toyota's head of research, Kazuo Okamoto, has to say on the matter: "There is no other alternative to hydrogen."

He's wrong. There's a very REAL alternative:
- Battery Cars (charged via our vast coal reserves... and gradually replaced by 2100 w/ renewables like solar power)

- For long distance travel, on-board battery generators would run on corn or soybean fuel, filled with energy from the sun.



We don't need hydrogen. We can survive w/o it.
