Try another thread to add a poll: my answer will be the same - NO!

No - because of the looks and it uses Lead Acid battery.

I would buy a GM/ToyotaRav EV for $20k tho, if they had Lithium battery and range of 100miles.

Even though you make it sound soooo appealing (sarcasm) I would need to decline the opportunity.

Warner, That little sentence is there to influence the voters

I actually might have considered buying that car, because my commute is short (14 miles round trip) and since the car has 4 seats, my two kids can be driven to school. It meets my needs as a commuter vehicle - ALMOST completely....(read on)

My problem is the lack of A/C. Living in Phoenix, this would mean I can drive the car only five months out of the year because the rest of the time would mean sweating buckets.

People in moderate climates with a "city streets commute" less than 35 miles or so might find the Xebra equal to their needs.

No air conditioner!? Difficult to swallow, but perhaps would do it.

A tricycle? That is a definitive deal breaker. Trycicles handle dangerously, in my experience.

On a second thought, these vehicles would be excellent as delivery vehicles. USPS for instance, although 40 miles could be way too short a range.

For me, the speed limitation is a deal breaker. I could even live with a 40 mile range if it could do 65 MPH.

Other problems:

-- Lead acid batteries. These are heavy and are pretty bad for the environment.
-- Classification. Since it is technically a 3-wheel motorcycle, that implies that the end user would require the Motorcycle endorsement to be added to his/her driving license. (I have a Class M license, but I doubt the average Joe does.)

Hope is like a candle held against the night.

Would probably not work for a USPS delivery vehicle. Have you seen how much stuff they cram into their current vehicles? Plus, no a/c... no way.
