Hi Lkewin:

___If another $2 - $3K is added on top of the $2K + 06 Tax credit and X-Plan pricing for an 06 FWD FEH, I would be visiting my friendly neighborhood Ford store to trade away the MDX on the very first day in January their doors are open

___Good Luck

I see that as incredibly premature. As it is, we have NO track record on the usage of the new rebate, not to mention it only applies to what, the first 50,000 units sold anyway? I say we should leave it the heck alone and get an idea of how many units sell anyway. Maybe revisit the issue in June and decide if next year you bump it up to 100,000 units. There's no point making it like a lottery where only the first 50,000 get a RIDICULOUS rebate and everyone after gets zero.

If anything, they might want to consider reducing the amount and increasing the quantity of rebates. That way more people will get a chance to take advantage of the rebates, even if they are a little smaller, and the net effect would be no change in lost revenue.

Hi AZCivic:

___Given what you and I drive on a daily basis, I do not think hybrid automobiles deserve ANY tax incentive(s). The fuel savings and total price is what should sell them, not a government handout. It isn’t like we have an $8 Trillion total debt and an 05 budget deficit of over $350 Billion.

___Those amounts do not mean anything to politicians let alone the fact that Hybrids are very expensive vs. their non-hybrid counterparts in most regards. Demand w/ limited supply pushing up not only MSRP’s but additional premiums on top of that! Let the marketplace do its thing would be my normal response but if the government is going to do stupid stuff with an ever increasing debt load by adding even more lucrative incentives, I will be in line at the trough just like every other little piggy …

___Good Luck

I agree Ecel, go to the dealer now and take an already ordered FWD FEH and change it to what you want (nav sys) whatever. Sell your MDX to the highest you can and forget about trade or take it in the ...
