I am trying to confirm sources for several keys bits of information that is needed to calculate the new hybrid car tax credit. After reading through the bill, I don’t quite see these things defined or sources cited where I can easily look this stuff up.
Do you know where I can find the exact source documents for the following:
1) What is the source document for each model’s Curb Weight?
a) Is it available in one big document somewhere on the EPAs web site?
b) Does the Curb Weight source break each model down by transmission type and emission rating? (Sometimes the emission rating affects the city mpg)
2) What is the official definition of "inertia weight class"?
3) What are the source documents for each model’s 2005 and 2006 City Fuel Economy numbers?
a) Are they available as big documents somewhere on the EPAs web site?
b) Do the sources break each model down by transmission type and emissions rating?
Maybe I’m being nitpicky, but will consumers really have to figure out whether a PZEV Civic gets a better tax break than a ULEV Civic? Or will all the Civics simply be lumped together? (Kind of like this document does.
