I've been looking at the mileage database on this site, and think it's awesome. It gives actual, real life, information on the different cars, and I think could help people decide between models.
However, I've never run across it in all of my research of the FEH, which I bought a few weeks ago. Even though I google searched my car, this didn't come up. It was just luck to find the website Greenhybrid.

What do others think? I think that places like Consumer Reports, CNet and others could use this information to everyone's advantage. Any chance of getting it out to them?

30+mpg vs. 20+ mpg with a minimal decrease in cargo-room -- why should someone consider a nonhybrid?

I agree that the mileage database is a great tool for fence-sitters and I have entered all 3 tanks from my new HCHII. The only drawback I see with it is that I can't modify the "Speed limit +/-" and "City/Highway %" per tank but have to estimate what it is for my overall ownership. My daily driving is usually 20/80 City/Highway but on some weekends when we take longer trips it is 2/98 City/Highway but it doesn't let me alter this on a per-tank basis.

So the real-world analysis is fantastic but it slightly askew. Also, I'm using the A/C here near Pittsburgh and we have more hills than Kansas but less than Colorado and I don't know if wanna-be owners take that into account.

You can see folks averages here..and especially what these cars are capable of when matched with the correct driver. I've yet so see any write-up anywhere which publish the higher numbers.

For example why don't they publish that the Insight is capable of 70,80,90, and even +100MPG for the right drivers?

I've checked that place out before. Their numbers for the 2005 VCM Odyssey are 18.8mpg. That makes me feel better about my numbers. It's tough to get relatively good FE in that vehicle.

Why have you stopped using the database? I noticed your car now shows up as gray (inactive) in the HCHI database. --just curious.
