Default tax credit: Another potential to keep an eye on

For FEH, MMH, possibly the Camry and Nissan Altima Hybrid(?). I dont know where this bill is in the scheme of things, or if it is "on top of" the current Federal Credit, but for "Domestic" hybrids, if passed, it seems that there may be more credit comming

I hope this passes!

Anyone knows more about this bill?

[Edit]

Oh, even better if the one for California (if you're in CA) also passes!
(info on same link above)

The bill was referred to the House Committee on Ways & Means right after being introduced. Nothing further has been done with it.

Too bad some of the newer proposed tax incentives are for Toyota Camry's built in TN. That plant doesn't come online with Hybrid until October. Everyone who has one now, has one built in Japan. You can tell if you VIN starts with "J". I guess it's only fair, but we're still saving gas, and stopping emissions, so we probably should get something. It's not like we chose a car build in Japan.

Yes, I did. After all, the US built TCHs won't have the front bumper towing hook cover! Wouldn't you pay extra (the amount of the tax credit) for that hook?

(Just kidding about preferring a Japanese built TCH, but the US built models will not likely have the little square cover on the front bumper.)
