Does the tax credit apply to new 2005MY vehicles purchased in 2006? Im asking because one of the local Ford dealerships has an untitled 2005 FEH with 10 miles on the odometer. Needless to say they are ready to deal. But I need to know if I should factor in the $1950 tax credit to my negotiations.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The federal income tax credit applies to qualifying hybrids first placed in service on or after 1/1/2006. The question is whether the 2005 FEH qualifies. The 2006 FEH does, but I don't see the 2005 FEH on any of the qualifying lists.
