Default Tokyo auto show lots of hybrids and lots of lithium

I've been telling everyone that Daihatsu would bring out the UFE-III this year!

For my money, it's the star of the show: a 3 seater car capable of 208 mpg (UK), 173 mpg (US).

Other hybrids present:
Toyota Estima (Sienna) hybrid - with 110V accessory outlet
Daihatsu HVS - 80 mpg hybrid roadster
Lexus LF-Sh - big car
Mercedes-Benz Bluetec Hybrid - 155 miles per hour and 31 mpg (presumably not at the same time!)
Mazda Tribute Hybrid - SUV

(All above almost certain to go into production soon)

Mazda Senku - rotary engine hybrid with roof mounted transluscent solar cells to top up battery
Subaru B5-TPH - boxer-hybrid like a legacy
Tokyo R&D Vemac RD408H hybrid Racecar - 600 bhp engine, 200 bhp electric. Looks very nice!

Only one accessory outlet? Our 2004 Sienna (obviously not a hybrid) has TWO!

I am not sure about the 110V Outlet, but I do know the Estima was released in Japan in 2001.

The below website advsies the MPG estimate is 44.6 mpg

I sure hope this comes to the US very very soon, as my current minivan is getting close to death and will need to be put out to pasture in another year or two (max).

Cool. I'd like to hear more about the "glance-activated switches" technology on the Honda FCX.

The UFE-III, the Pivo, and the Eliica seem cool.
