Just a little over 10%. We still have a long way to go, but the message is slowly starting to sink in for some people.

Unfortunately, what is missing from the announcement (but implied by it's absence) is that Camry Hybrid and Highlander Hybrid sales are down from July 2006, 13.8% and 56.7%. Only the Prius Hybrid is up.

Similar story with Honda and Ford.

I'm trying not to put lipstick on a pig but last year, there was still a drought of Prius. It pushed a lot folks towards other hybrids. But I agree, I'd like to see higher Camry hybrid sales . . . including to that Prius nut in Huntsville Alabama. He needs to stop holding out for a hybrid minivan and either make his own or get the Camry.

That is one funny announcement. Total sales down 10%, but all the following reported models are up. So what didn't sell? Widgets?

Someone at Toyota likes to concentrate on the positive!

It's a PR announcement, so only good news. All of the reported models were not up, only the ones that said they were up. The ones for which they just gave sales figures were down. I had to do a Google search to get the real year to year values -- you won't find it on the Toyota site!
