1. Report on how the EPA is over reporting FE with their estimates placed on the driver’s side window of all new automobiles.

2. I would like to begin my story by speaking to a Hybrid driver from the LA. area but I do not want to speak with a hybrid driver achieving > EPA estimates.

1 + 2 = ? <-- This is a bad omen imho but we shall see?

No car meets EPA, given the way 90% of the people drive.
But hybrids can meet and exceed EPA.
I am proof of this, and I live in KNBC's territory.
Their camera can take a shot of my dash board that shows 59 MPG for the last 500 miles.
Can't fake that.

If KNBC wants to produce a balanced story they will interview me.
If not, they won't.
Let's see how much journalistic integrity KNBC Los Angeles has.

I spoke with Jim last night. Apparently, he got my name from various places on the INet because I have been so vocal about my beloved Escape Hybrid SUV. He may be familiar to those of you that may have seen the NBC syndicated Entertainment Tonight. I have watched him for years and he is a good reporter. He may or may not interview me or record me for real but after our 1/2 hour conversation I do believe him to be sincere in trying to show that EPA is definitely deficient in their methods of measuring real life mileage.

Jim has a problem on getting a camera crew out over a hundred miles to me but I volunteered to drive down to LA the 120 miles. Jim cannot get a camera crew on a weekend since I will not take off teaching during the week. Perhaps next week when the time changes I can drive down there right after school and be filmed still during daylight. If not I think I have tried to help by posting his request for people to interview in the LA Area on Jason's GreenHybrid, my Yahoo Escape site, and many other lessor hybrid sites. Any of you who can post his request and telephone number on other site will certainly help our agenda.

I appreciate all your discussion but I think it important to help the media whenever possible to get the word out about the problems with EPA.

I guess someone getting 10+ over EPA was not good news for his "news" story.

How sad.

I'd think hypermiling would be a story unto itself.
