The VentureOne(TM)
When can we look forward to this vehicle in the mileage database?

Interesting. Looks fun. I wouldn't mind test driving one of those.

Re: The VentureOne(TM)
not very practical. some would have trouble getting in and out. doesn't look very safe, but maybe it would fit under an suv.

Add wings and a propeller and it would a nice little fly-about.

Re: The VentureOne(TM)
I would hate to see what happens when that thing tries to tangle with one of these lumbering gass guzzlers moping about. But, for packed city driving, it would be a good idea, agile, small, high mpg. I could see this taking over in places like Tokyo or London. But here in the States, I'm afraid that the main even between this and say a Suburban would simply destroy it, and the driver.

My son and I ride bikes to school when the weather is good, so this would be great when it isn't. I want one! LL

I'll trade my Harley Superglide for one today if they were for sale here!

You know, 20' in front of an F350 and you'd disappear under the hood and they'd never know you were there. I don't care what roll cage is around you, the bumper of most larger vehicles looks to be about head-height on that thing. I'm not about to get my head taken off over 100 mpg. Sorry, I'll settle for 45.

Re: The VentureOne(TM)
It's a matter of trade-offs. Some would venture (ha! I made a funny) to say a Civic is just too small and the occupants wouldn't survive a crash as well as the occupants in a Ford Explorer. Would they be wrong to say a Civic is unsafe? How about a conventional motorcycle as compared to this VentureOne? Or a pedal powered bicycle as compared to a moped?
Also, does anyone know the standard height of a Civic? A Mini Cooper? A BMW 3? I'm working on a paper and don't have the time (read: too lazy) to look it up.
Besides, even if the F-350 was right on the back bumper of this VentureOne, you'd still be able to see it. It's not like you're laying down on the ground.
I continually ride my motorcycle around these (crazy) AZ highways and I've never gotten slammed into the rear by a truck because I've disappeared under their hood. And, a motorcycle offers even less protection as this concept vehicle.
At $20K, I doubt I'd ever buy one. Maybe at half that cost would I consider it a value. But, that's at my current income level. If I were making a lot more money, I'd get one just as a toy to cruise around in.

As a motorcycle rider myself (just recently got an '88 honda hawk gt with 1400 original miles (yes, 1400, not 14,000)) I can't see what the attraction of this would be to someone who knows the joys of two wheels. For half as much money, I'd buy a Ducati Monster S2R and have way more fun. Now, what I'd love to see is more fuel efficient bikes, which no one seems interested in aside from BMW with their 650s. I'd love an electric bike, but I think the weight of the batteries means it's not going to happen any time soon.
At any rate, it's not practical as transportation. It is practical as a toy, but for the little protection it provides, I'd take a motorcycle and have way more fun.
