Default Water Temp in Prius

Has anyone figured a way to determine water temp in a 05 Prius? comming from a racing background, oil pressure is the most important guage in the car, however water temp is right there too. I hate the fact that when im in my Prius i dont know the oil and water temps. Anyone hook anything up to know these?? thanks. Dean

There are many OBD2 scanners that work in the Prius (look for the buzz word "CAN"). Here's one on the web that is a self-contained (but a little clunky) unit.

An interface for your PC is:

Make certain to ask if it handles the CAN bus protocols. They're newer and not on may cars (CAN is a higher performance protocol used on Trucks and the Prius)
