Default We love our '06 Prius!

Howdy! Just wanted to say hi! After 4 months spent reading posts from you fine people regarding your priuses, we have finally picked up our Barcelona Red #3! We love it. Mileage has been ok so far, about 45mpg, but we expect it to creep up as it breaks in. Looking around for info on I-POD intergration and we're trying to decide to EV or to not to EV. But for now, we are just going to enjoy the nice 25 mile per gallon bump over our other car, an outback.

Hey, me too! I got mine last Thursday, also red, pkg. #5. Am also getting about 45 mpg, getting used to it, etc. I'm convinced the FE will improve, because today was the first day I did my regular commute (which is a good route for FE, I've learned over the past few months with my FEH), and it bumped up a couple of tenths. Where are you - what's the weather like? Here, we've had some very cold weather, rain last night and today, and now it's getting cold again. BTW - if you want to turn off those annoying backup beeps, it can be done - check out the Prius forum for instructions. I tried it today and it does work on the '06.

.

hi sweetbeat! Congrats on the new car! We do not commute by auto, rather, we typically run errands and travel out of town. It was warmer yesterday (range from 39 to mid 40's yesterday) than when we got the car (17 - 20 deg) so we feel the mileage will go up too. You can see on the graph that the first 5 minutes is when we get our worst mileage as the ICE warms up. I guess just another reason why we cannot wait for summer
