Default What are the chances of a factory upgrade

I cant help but think that at the dawn of the 100 MPG prius and other high MPG cars that all of us with the current highlanders and camrys ect would suddenly own obslete cars. Unless there were factory upgrade battery kits offered. does anyone want to chime in?

.

There will be other options than factory. I'm guessing Hybrids will be like iPods. The biggest complaint anyone has about their iPod is that the battery life is short and that the batteries only last about 2 years. The aftermarket has stepped up with batteries that are twice as powerful and are cheaper than Mr. Jobs is willing to sell them.

I'm pretty sure that there is already a company making lithium ion batteries for the Prius. and as more people buy TCHs and THHs, they will make similar packages I'm sure. The only thing is that you will surely void your warranty by using an aftermarket battery. I just hope someone makes one for the Civic!

Commuter car, grocery getter, and summer road tripper--average 10k miles per year.

Winter road trips and ski trips, bad weather commuter and my wife's "daily" driver--expected average 4k miles per year.
