Turns out its the air intake hose, not the fuel filter. Cost only $120 to get fixed

In regards to the fuel I use in my car, a TCH, I use regular unleaded gasoline. I did use premium once, but did not notice any difference, except it cost more. The TCH owners manual states the recommended octane level for the car, which is what regular unleaded provides. I use Chevron gas all the time.

The discussion of quality is accurate. If you buy better quality gasoline, then you will be better off. A comment was made about all gas coming from the same place, and then being distributed to all stations. While this is true with a lot of stations, the name brand stations typically have their own trucks to deliver their fuel, or contract out a truck to deliver their fuel. A friend of mine drives truckloads of fuel for all types of stations. He said that most of the local stations use the same gas. He did mention that Chevron has its own gas. Another thing he mentioned is that these fuel trucks will fill up a tank of regular unleaded on one trip, and then usually switch to another type of fuel such as premium or even diesel. Some of the previous fuel will get mixed with the new fuel, which can alter what the fuel has in it.

I prefer to stick with name brand stations that have quality fuel. Even though AM/PM sells a lot of fuel, is a name brand, and usually costs less, I have heard that the fuel from there is not as good as other stations. I have also heard that AM/PM fuel evaporates quicker than normal and may have an alcohol or similar additive. It just goes to show that not all gas is the same, but usually similar. Research what seems to be the best cost effective tradeoff of cost per gallon versus quality. And there is no need to go with a higher octane unless you have a vehicle that absolutely must have it to perform properly.
