Default whatta weenie winter

it's been like iowa around here, with nothing but grey skies and light rain for what seems like weeks. we did have one or two days right before the holidays where we actually had some real snow, but mostly it's been this light freezing junk.

so i here i sit with my really sticky FEH sucking snow tires, wearing off the rubber, and wondering why i didn't wait longer to put them on.....mileage really was bad this fill, though i am still above 50....

.

Best fill 66.7 MPG, best tank 801.5 miles

Same here in the boston area. Whatever little bit of snow there was, has all melted now with the rains last night and 60F temp today. But its not nice to fool Mother Nature. Think I'll go to the golf course tomorrow and see what's brewing..

I'm getting worse FE since I filled up on tues despite all the balmy weather but me thinks I got a load of adulterated fuel from shell, maybe more ethanol. MPG's are sitting around 40 vs my usual 46 or so.

Darn it! I was going to get a picture of my Insight with the "Weiner Mobile" tonight but I was in a hurry to get home. That would of been right off-topic but yet still on. It's been really warm here. Enough that I've been working outside and breaking a sweat.

You don't suppose this 'global warming' is real?

Actually, some of us think we may have already passed a tipping point with tundra warming releasing methane.

Temps here went from 64F on Saturday to 19F on Sunday. Yeesh. But, after today, the temps will be near 50F again, with some golfing on Friday..

Frankly, I don't know what to believe now about global warming. One side says its a natural phenom that occurs on a periodic basis the other side may agree to a point but says that burning fossil fuel is accelerating the natural process. Many threads and posts on this site to reference along with actual data so who knows???

I think all we know for sure at this point is that the arctic tundra and north pole ice pack (aka the Arctic ocean) including Greenland glaciers are melting at alarming rates and this is not going to be good in the not so far off future. There was a good show on the WX channel yesterday about the melting of Alaska, sounds like you may have seen it Bob. I guess my 2 cents is that the damage has already been done and its getting worse but the proof will not be known for 1000's of years. Being the biggest source of greenhouse gas, at least we (the US) are scratching the surface with alternate forms of clean energy sources.

Everyone please stop the global warming debate before it get out of hand. Everyone has their own views on one side or the other or in the middle. Argument isn't likely going to change it and will more than likely cause animosity between members of the site.

We've had early "weenie winters" before, which usually result in deadly, snowy ones in late winter. Here in MI, we don't have any snow anymore, and haven't in a while, but of late, by February or so, we're buried.

You never know what to expect in Michigan. It was freezing rain this morning. Melted by mid-morning. We have been told to expect 1-2 inches of the white stuff by morning. I don't mind the lack of sub-zero temps--better fuel economy!
