Why no minivans?
I love my HCH, and now the wife wants a minivan. I'm curious why automakers are so slow to bring any minivans into the hybrid world. I'd love an Odyssey Hybrid. Any thoughts, opionions on this?

Re: Why no minivans?
Could be because the minivan is fading in popularity. Being eclipsed by small SUV's and crossovers.

Re: Why no minivans?
I was always wondering this same thing
They are overpriced as it is, and this would just add cost to them....

Re: Why no minivans?
The minivans in Japan really don't compare with the North American varieties. They would consider a Sienna or Odyssey an apartment on wheels.

Re: Why no minivans?
The Honda IMA system wasn't really designed for anything bigger than an accord, and we see this being dropped. Also, the cost of a Odyssey is pretty expensive, I guess the marketing folks don't think that many people will opt for a hybrid version if it's going to add to the cost, which it will.

Re: Why no minivans?
I'm actually more suprised that Honda hasn't brought over their diesel in both the CRV and Odyssey

Re: Why no minivans?
The VCM in the Odyssey has worked well.
The diesel Odyssey will be here eventually but the diesel is going into an Acura vehicle first before it makes its way into a Honda vehicle.

Re: Why no minivans?
Really? The only thing I have heard is that the CRV was going to be the first followed by the accord. Which Acura were they thinking? RDX?
