Hi Sascol,

I've been here two years now, but in Yorktown not too far away so I am quite familiar with the entire area. Maybe more than you now with all the sub divisions and business. Have you been back recently?

No....have not been there in quite some time. We moved there in 1970 and came down to NC in 1979. I went to Myers Corners Elementary School and grew up in a subdivision called Angel Brook (off of All Angels Rd, I think??). I've been back but I'm sure I would not recognize much. We try to go to the city once a year so at some point we'll venture back to WF.

My brother teaches at Meyers Corners! Not too many changes on All Angels. Maybe a dozen sub divisions. Rt. 9 and the surrounding area...Very Different.

If your up this way, give me a shout. PM me your old address and I'll send you a picture of your house today.

Why worry about it? Just know that you're getting more than double the mileage and be happy.

I've run into quite a few people who are anti-hybrid due to their reading/being told, etc. that the new batteries cost $6,000.00. Period. They don't take into account that an extended warranty covers them and that it would take longer to wear out the batteries than they would even own the car (in several cases). People just don't understand.

It reminds me of people I knew a few years ago who would never buy a 4 cylinder car. They didn't take into account the weight of the car, the horsepower, torque, etc. Four cylinder always equaled bad.

With hybrids you need to do your research. So many people don't understand proper research methods. Just because it's published on the Internet doesn't make it true!

Now that I am getting a TCH and letting people know about it, I am am amazed at what kind of responses I get. I don't know where these people get their information from on what to expect from a Hybrid. I wish they would read these forums and then talk to me about Hybrids.

Most salespeople are just that...salespeople. Most are only interested in you signing the line and will spout off whatever you need to hear. There is such a HUGE resource online for you to get the facts about a particular car. I would only listen to what the manufacturer says.

O.K. now I have heard the comment that made my blood boil, we were talking about the price of gas and mileage at work around the lunch table.
The subject of hybrids came up, someone said Bob has one, I said I was getting mileage in the mid 40's right now but my lifetime average is about 42.4 with 95% city driving...someone said I get in the 20's in my 4runner ( 90% freeway) someone else said I get 35 in my Cavilier also mostly freeway...I asked but what do they get in town? to a dumb stare....I added that I have seen as much as 68mpg on the freeway.....the 4runner driver said oh can that go on the freeway? My response was of course, why wouldn't you...the response was, well doesn't it only have like 20 hp & top speed of 40 mph AGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!! I gave them a ride, their response was, wow, it SEEMS a REAL car! except I don't like that it kept STALLING
