I can't speak for other areas, but in these parts diesel costs anywhere from 10 to 40 cents a gallon more than regular gas. (Don't know why that is -- when diesel cars first came out in the '70s diesel was cheaper than gas.) That, IMO, would negate any advantage of a diesel hybrid. Given the fuel price difference, anyone wanting a high-FE vehicle would get a gas-powered hybrid instead.

Okay... but if I had a diesel car I'd make my own biodiesel for about $.75 a gallon, and only go to gas stations to either buy slurpees or to put air in my tires. That's why I added the caveat that Ford warranty B100.

For example, you could buy a kit like this to make your own biodiesel, or just assemble the necessary parts yourself:

You can extract a LOT more energy from diesel fuel than from gasoline. This is part of the reason that big rigs and trains run on diesel. Also compare the MPG numbers of VW diesel passenger cars to competing models.
