Renault have already been selling a plug-in hybrid 5-seater EV in Europe for years now, but only in low volume... It uses a tiny 10 kW engine to recharge the batteries as required, but electric power for 90% of the time.

Renault has lots of cool stuff, but their name is dirt in the USA so they won't be coming back anytime soon. Besides, their subsidiary (Nissan) is here already. Their new Versa is basically a Renault Clio. I would love to be able to buy a Renault in Canada. I'd get a Scénic dCi anytime!
