CHANGES: The Insight used to be #1, but Honda upgraded their GX in 2004, so the GX now fills the top spot. Also new to the list is the Escape Hybrid & several Partial-Zero Emission Vehicles (PZEV).

GREEN SCORE = scale from 0 to 100, where 100 = no pollution

"If driven from California to Washington, DC, the Honda Civic GX natural-gas vehicle would emit fewer reactive hydrocarbons than that released by spilling a single teaspoon of gasoline."

They were talking about this on CNN yesterday. I was listening over XM Radio. What they said, though, was pretty misleading. First, they said Scions recieve great mileage (150 MPG as a joke). Then, they said the Honda Civic (just plain old "Civic") was the cleanest/most efficient car. They went down the list including the Insight, Prius, etc. but failed to mention their 40's-60's mileage ratings. So, basically, no one knew how good they were. They did, however, mention the H2 and Silverado at 12 or so MPG.

I added the Accord Hybrid to Post #1.

It scored a 40... less clean than a Civic Lean-Burn HX or Toyota Echo... but still clean.
