Scott - I would pocket the $500 for the backup camera and just back the car into the driveway each time. My dad always taught me that people are generally more in a hurry when leaving somewhere than arriving somewhere so I back in whenever arriving when possible so I can just pull out when leaving. <smirk> It still doesn't solve the quietness of the car though - good point though about the camera.
