I disagree. That 16% means a lot more when it is applied to a gas hog than with a vehicle that alreaddy gets decent gas milage N/A. And its actually 10-12% better gas milage...
Over a 300 mile trip...
Normal truck: 300 miles / 15 mpg = 20 gallons burned
Hybrid truck: 300 miles / 17 mpg = 17.6 gallons burned
Savings: 2.4 gallons
Normal car: 300 miles / 25 mpg = 12 gallons burned
Hybrid car: 300 miles / 28 (12% over 25) mpg = 10.7 gallons burned
Savings: 1.3 gallons
The hybrid truck just saved more than one gallon of gasoline in contrast to the hybrid car over the same distance.
